Section Insulator (054674-3003)

Section Insulators for Shoe and Pantograph on LRV

(3)
This insulator assembly is developed primarily for pantograph operation, and can be used in conjunction with combined systems utilizing trolley poles (shoe / wheel) and pantograph current collection. The design of this section insulator implements the use of extended runners, known as arcing skids, which serve to preserve the longevity of the insulated runner. These Section Insulators are rated at 750 VDC with an ultimate tensile strength of 12,000 lbs. Typically installed as a non-commutating section insulator, with the addition of clamps and 4/0 flexible copper jumpers between the contact wire and the runners, this section insulator can also be used for commutating applications. Also, an optional Suspension Yoke Assembly ...
Section Insulators with Gliders and Arching Horns (700300-25X)

Section Insulators with Gliders and Arching Horns

(2)
These insulator assemblies are non-bridging section insulators. The section insulator  implements arcing horns (runners), and  implements continuous gliders (runners) which are intended to preserve the life of the insulated runner. These section insulators are developed primarily for pantograph operation, and can be used in conjunction with combined systems utilizing trolley poles (shoe / wheel) and pantograph current collection. Both styles are rated at a system voltage of 750 VDC with a ultimate tensile strength of 12,000 lbs.

The standard contact wire and tip sizing for these section insulators is 300 KCML grooved wire and 350 KCML grooved wire. However, size requirements of 4/0, 300 KCML and 350 KCML ...
