The end fittings provided represent the broad array of connection methods for IMPulse Strain Insulators. The eye and clevis ends are cast of quality ductile iron or bronze. Spool Insulators are a universal design for application in systems up to 750 VDC. Spool Insulator versatility allows many applications such as those shown below. They are manufactured of a steel boss with a 5/8"-11 tapped hole, a 5/8"-11 stud, and molded using a special glass reinforced polyester. Spool Insulators are rated at an ultimate tensile load of 10,000 lbs. pull strength and a 3,000 lbs. cantilever strength with a leakage distance of 2.44 inches.
Spool Strain Insulators are available in many configurations. Spool Strain Insulators have many applications including, but are not limited to, Fixed Terminations, Pull-Off Assemblies, Headspan Assemblies, Support and Registration Assemblies and Portal Assemblies. The addition of various end fittings allow for application where space is limited and forces that do not exceed the ultimate tensile load of 10,000 lbs. (F).

Messenger Saddle Insulators are used for insulating the Messenger Wire on various cantilever assemblies with a maximum operating voltage rating of 750 VDC. This Insulator was specially designed to allow it's use in both single and dual messenger wire applications. They are manufactured of stainless steel boss’s with 1/2"-13 tapped holes, two (2) in the top and one (1) 5/8"-11 on the bottom, and are molded using a special glass reinforced polyester. The Messenger Saddle Insulators are rated at an maximum radial load of 1,000 lbs.
Type-JB Strain Insulators are made of the highest grade of wet ware porcelain. They are rugged and have a low susceptibility to mechanical breakage. The holes and grooves are straight thus making assembly easy even with stiff guy strand.
Mechanical strength ratings are values developed with hard drawn copper or mild steel cable.
The type of strand and method of attachment will have a marked influence on the strength developed.
These insulators are intended primarily for guy or span wire insulation. They may also be used for low-voltage dead ends with the use of the clamps and fittings.
Porcelain insulator assemblies consist of two interlocked wet ware porcelain strain insulators as shown below, an eye fitting for attachment to clevis of clamp, an intermediate fitting between the insulators , and a clevis fitting for attachment to eyebolt in supporting structure . Flexible bronze saddles are furnished with each fitting for insertion between bolts/pins and insulators, increasing the bearing area, and distributing the strain evenly.
Clamp and fittings are of ductile iron, hot-dip galvanized.
Loop Insulators have multiple applications. The Loop Insulator can be used in cantilever assemblies, crossovers, section insulator suspension assemblies, hangers, headspans, cross-spans, pull-offs, terminations and many other applications where high strength and minimum clearance requirements are necessary.
The Loop Insulators are manufactured using fiberglass strands encapsulated in epoxy with a green polymide sheath for durability and weather resistance. Polymide thimbles, fitting wire ranges up to 3/8" [9.53 mm], are manufactured within the design of the Loop Insulator to allow for versatile application with minimal wear to the main insulator. Loop Insulators are rated at an ultimate tensile strength of 5,000 lbs....
