Section Insulators with Gliders and Arching Horns

Check up to five results to perform an action.

These insulator assemblies are non-bridging section insulators. The section insulator  implements arcing horns (runners), and  implements continuous gliders (runners) which are intended to preserve the life of the insulated runner. These section insulators are developed primarily for pantograph operation, and can be used in conjunction with combined systems utilizing trolley poles (shoe / wheel) and pantograph current collection. Both styles are rated at a system voltage of 750 VDC with a ultimate tensile strength of 12,000 lbs.

The standard contact wire and tip sizing for these section insulators is 300 KCML grooved wire and 350 KCML grooved wire. However, size requirements of 4/0, 300 KCML and 350 KCML grooved wire sizing can be accommodated upon request.

An added feature of the section insulator is the availability of optional bronze shims. These shims, if required, will allow the adjustment of the glider position to allow the pantograph to remain below the running surface of the No-Bo Section Insulator.
